Neighborhood Bike Works is a nonprofit educational organization in Philadelphia that seeks to increase opportunities for urban youth through bicycling, and which promotes cycling as an environmentally-friendly means of transportation.

It started in 1996 as Youth Cycle & Recycle, a program of The Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia. We organized as a separate non-profit in July 1999, opened the Haddington Neighborhood Shop in 2001, and opened the North Philly/Temple Shop in 2009. Today, we hold classes at three permanent shops, satellite locations in Chester and Norristown, PA, and in several public schools and community centers. Call to find out about an Earn a Bike class near you!
